About the Artist: Alice Goffena Sullenger
Alice was born in Billings, Montana on September 1947 to a large family with 10 siblings. Alice is very thankful to God for the gorgeous wide open spaces on her family’s large ranch right along the Musselshell River. She remembers as a child making figurines out of mud and transitioned her artistic creativity to sculptures after a dream of a mare and a colt coming out of the board. She was mesmerized by this image as she felt it was a gift from God and very thankful for her faith and love for God. Her signature on all of her art work is a sign of a cross with her initials. She gets her artistic talent from her mother’s side of the family who had a vivid imagination; always thinking outside of the box. Her Catholic faith is her most important aspect and her art is her calling. Alice donates large religious sculptures that are located throughout numerous churches in Wyoming; including Diocese of Cheyenne Wyoming, and Church of Saint Anthony of Padua. When working on her art she is close to her Maker. All of Alice’s art are one of a kind freeform originals. Alice has written and illustrated 6 children’s books about animals as she is an avid animal lover since her upbringing on her family’s farm.
Alice has a plethora of hobbies she enjoys but not limited to: baking, sewing, gardening, growing beautiful flowers and spending time with her beloved family and cherished animals. Her love for all animals is a gift from God.
Alice continues creating beautiful one of a kind art and enjoys creating new sculptures that are inspired through prayer.
